Default Front biased spring rates

I just can't seem to find the thread which went into depth of the advantages for our car to have higher spring rates in the front, to reduce if not eliminate the dreaded over/bump-steer issue.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Pierre

stiffer front springs will reduce oversteer / increase understeer somewhat. But you will probably notice more degredation in ride quality with stiffer front springs than you will with stiffer rear springs.

If you're already ordering custom spring rates, then go for it. But if you're thinking of changing your spring rates just to combat oversteer, a stiffer front sway bar will probably be a lot better bang/buck. Or even just messing with your tire pressures a little should help and that doesn't cost anything.

My car has 100# stiffer springs in front. I much prefer the behavior of the car that way.

The rear is much more planted and much less wheel spin too.
