Helper springs
At what point do you need to use helper springs with our cas? some say anything stiffer than 13k yet I see plenty with stiffer set up not using them.

Entirely dependent on the amount of travel your shock has and where you want the static loaded shock position to be in that range. The more travel the shock has, the more likely it is that a helper spring will be necessary to achieve the desired static position. Same for more spring rate. So a shock with limited travel may be able to use fairly stiff springs before needing a helper.

Yup. Thomsbrain covered it.

One of my adjustable spring perches got loose and it got to the point that I could hear the spring slapping around when I would unload that side of the suspension completely. If the spring is loose when its off the ground, you should probably get a helper. If not, its not needed.

Makes sense. I'm just debating if I need to order those right away or play and see. Going to try fortune 510s with 14k front and 13k rear on swift springs. Was trying to figure out if I should just add helpers from the start.

I was under the impression that Fortune would basically build them to spec. Have you called to see what their recommendation is?

If they are going to be on coilovers, you can just raise the car if they are loose. If you plan on lowering more than 2 inches, then you will probably want them. I went down about an inch and I have plenty of tension on my springs.
