that's exactly what mine looked like after the piston boot cracked. The piston was stuck "open", thus the brake pad was left compressed onto the rotor.

I dont run boots on my stock brakes or the new brembos I just got....
its a race car though
my stock brakes didnt have boots for at least 2 seasons because they melted off the first race.

I say run it
but keep a eye on them

The trick part is steps 10-11, getting the piston back in.
(And I just leave the caliper bracket attached to the car.)
