Thanks for the pics!

I have been having problems tracking down a problem on my '90 CRX-Si that has over 9,000 track miles on it. The picture of the rubber center of the bushing being offset to one side will give me one more thing to look for.

I can't tell you the hours I have laid under that car so far...

Damn, one more reason to jack up my damn car.

I have a weird issue with the rear end stepping out in cornering. It might just be the alignment or the crappy undersized and cheap street tires I've got on (Khumo 712s) but this is certainly something to look for. I've had some alignment issues. The techs can't seem to get the alignment I want anymore. As a result my alignment is pretty much random at the moment.

Good thread!

if you can't get the alignment you want you might want to check the knuckle on that corner, it could be bent. or is it all around?

Come on Erik, you have got to loose those 712s!
They are cheap I will admit, but then again, you get what you pay for.

Well i took a look at mine and the rear bushing looks centered and in good shape. One thing i did notice though was that the front bushing sits much closer to the rear part of the U bracket its mounted in than the front part of that bracket. I think this is telling me that that U-bracket needs to bend to the rear in order to give the A-arm the ability to move rearward and compress the rear bushing as pictured. Or maybe the front bushing is compressed enough to give it the needed play.

The only other thing i can think of maybe some brake fluid got spilled onto the rear bushing and deteriorated the bushing.

Lost a bit of caster, a bit of camber, and toe out? Wow, that's basically exactly the problem I am having! I had an alignment done, and noticed that the inner tread of my front tyres wore quickly. Rechecking alignment turned up a toe-out factor out of spec already after 2000km highway use!

Reset the toe, drove around a bit more, and the toe was out again! Every bolt and nut was tight and we're running out of ideas. Steering has no play or slop in it, car drives fine. Guess we'll have to take a good look at these bushings.

How were your upper A-arms doing? I assume that both LCAs have to be replaced at the same time, but hopefully my upper ones are still ok.
