CompactFlash and CompactFlashReader are required to be able to use with a computer. Both run on Windows I believe

Ah. I have two Linux boxes and no flash reader (unless it uses a USB interface). Was looking interesting.

I do have Win98SE dual-booted on one of the Linux boxes, but I have no interest in installing any other MS OS. If these run on Win98 then maybe they're still in the picture.

DL1 software is available online: http://www.race-technology.com/WebPage2/Pr...ftwareHome.html

G2X is not, you have to get them to mail you a demo CD

Email me if you want sample data from MidOhio for the DL1.

With both you read from the CF card to your PC, either by USB reader or PC card adapter. Windows only I believe.

(BTW, this stupid reply window only took 15 minutes to open at work. What's gives?)

You're in luck, the DL1 software works from Windows 98 on up

Key point and the reason to buy one of these types of units:
The main learning tool is from the data, more so than the lap times. Also the ease of swapping into someone with a similar car can be very valuable for you as a data comparison point. I helped a friend (who's an instructor, not just a student!!!) pick up 2 seconds at MidOhio (TracQuest) by going out with him and comparing his data vs my data. You've got to be able to look at the data trackside, right after your session for maximum value and impact to your driving.
Yea, hopefully some of the hot shoes at Speedventures can drive my car next so I can compare the data logs.

I am also going to mount it to friends cars to see what makes our S2000 special.

I also disconnected my rear swaybars to see what difference it makes. There was a difference in entry and exit speed before and after the rear swabar removal.

My money is on the removed sway bar setup being slower.
