handling issue
Thank you Formula Redline! Your last part also helped explain another theoretical question I was pondering, and that was what if you had two equal mases linked by a solid bar of relatively negligible mass, but the links were hinged so the end masses could remain perpendicular to the floor/scales (force is plumb) even when one end was lowered or raised. In this case, the weight at each end should remain constant, contrary to the fixed plane (ramp) in the table experiment. Still intriguing, and the car is actually a bit different still since it is a fixed plane, but on wheels that act like hinges, allowing the force through the wheels to remain perpendicular. I think I get it, at least momentarily
. I'm sure I'll be confised again the longer I think about it.

[quote name='Naka' date='Mar 25 2007, 07:27 AM'] I'm sorry. But that statement is incorrect. Static weight distribution of a car is just as important as the dynamic one.
Racecars are always changing ride-height and weight distribution based on track layout/conditions.
The explanation why the book says you can't was give above.
I would love to help you with your calculations, but it would serve no purpose but to just satisfy your curiosity. It's easier to get your car cornerbalanced and see how

Okay, now I'm confused again.
I can see that if the car was taken to an extreme angle till vertical, and the wheels could remain on the scales (so a formula car
), that both the front and the rear scales would still record weight. But would the weights be 50:50? and what if the weight distribution of the car when horizontal was 40:60 to begin with?

it's because he has a damn welded rear roll bar
i would set your rear toe to zero, instead of what it is at now
you might want to try running -3 camber in front, like you are now, but try increasing the rear camber to -3.5
might want to try lowering the car a tad more, and maybe picking up a wider rear tire, like 255
or stock rear roll bar....
or try running stiffer spring rates in the front
