1.75 seem to be easy to come by, 1.25 not so much (at least locally for me). You sure they are 1.25?

I'm quite certain. I had to go to 2 different specialty hardware shops in order to find them locally.

I managed to solve, at least temporarily, the spinning balljoint issue on my car this weekend. The root cause is that the tapered section of the balljoint is about 1/16th of an inch too long and sticks out through the bottom of the control arm. Due to the springy balljoint boot, I never noticed this with the arm on the car. I pulled the arm and used my shop press to seat the balljoint. With that protrusion, the castle nut bottoms out on the threads without actually ever touching the control arm. Here's a pic:

Interestingly, a spare arm that I had showed the same amount of protrusion, but the arm on the drivers side was slightly thicker, and it had almost no protrusion.

I ended up buying a 9/16th washer that fit over the end of the balljoint and cutting it to fit the arm:

That allowed the castle nut to not bottom out on the threads and get tight:

I intend to order some hardened washers and redo this, as I suspect the washers from Home Depot Racing Supply may deform over time.

This is the hardware that shipped with my 6621 kit, it was just drop shipped to me from Taiwan this week, so this may represent some form of an updated kit.

^Well that annoys me. I ordered mine a month ago and they gave me some cheap non-graded bolts.

Mine didn't come with the pin that goes through the nut either, what's it called/where can I get it? Does the type matter, like it does for bolts?

I think you're talking about the cotter pin. Just get one with an "eye" large enough not to go completely through the bolt hole. Home Depot sells them.
