Absolutely no way I'd run the current seat with them mounted lower. I'd only use it and mount just slightly higher.

Steve, a properly fit harness will run straight from where they lay on your shoulders to the harness bar without touching the seat's harness opening. If the PP harness openings are too low for your body, resulting in a >20 degree down angle as measured from your shoulder, you run the risk of compression fracture if in a front end collision. The fact that the harness bar is located above your shoulders means the harness has to bend upwards at the top of the harness opening, but the result to you is still a >20 degree downward compression risk.

I liked the PP fit ent, but the holes were too low, so I went with the Sparco Evo2plus (which required interior trim removal).

That's what I figured. I really need to grab something to make a mock harness and see just what angle they fall at.

I will be putting a rollbar in the car and once I do all of the rear interior trim is coming out. That will give me a little extra room for wider shoulder wings. I'm actually considering pulling even more of the interior.

I've sat in a few of the Sparco seats and I just don't find they fit me very well. There is a place in Northern, VA that has the full lineup in store to sit in so I might need to take another trip.

I really want to find somewhere/someone semi local that has the Cobra Imola or Suzuka. Both of those look promising.

Sounds like you just need a new seat...I'm a small guy and love my Sparco Corsa...shoulder wings do dent in the door panels. But for me the seat and harness fit me perfectly. Spend a little time trying to find the right seat for you. Maybe call up Recaro and see if they can charge you an extra $150-200 to cut the harness holes to your specification higher...or do as others did and open the holes up.

I don't mean to change the topic, but where is this shop in Northern VA you speak of? That would be a great help in my search for a perfect bucket seat before having to drop hundreds on something that may or may not suit my body size.

Oh, and it sounds like you might need a new seat after all so you know a good home that will gladly take your PP

Most harness installed in a s all go back down. Most roll dog bars have a lowered harness bar. Not ideal but that's what people have

One of the comments got me thinking.....is the bottom of the harness guide supposed to be above my shoulder so the harness can sit level or just some part of the harness hole needs to be above my shoulder so the belts can sit level?

Basically I'm asking if the bottom of the harness guide is 1" below my shoulder but the top of the guide is 1" above my shoulder then the belt can pass through cleanly and properly be mounted horizontally. That is still considered safe?

You want the harness to be parallel to the ground (or slightly angled down) from your shoulder to the harness bar. The strap will likely go from the top of your harness bar to your shoulder unless you use eyelets, then it will go from the level of the eyelet. You want the shoulder straps clear of the shoulder harness holes.

So the important part is that the harnesses themselves are horizontally passing through the harness holes and best case scenario is that they don't even touch the harness guides at all?
