Thumbs up which hawk pads best for me

so im trying to decide on a track pad and i know their is alot of discussion about all this and ive been reading all day about different pads and ive searched them all. ive seen the popular and not so popular.

but it seems their is not as much discussion about hawks. the reason im asking about hawks is because i can get hawk through work with a significant discount. ill be running powerslot cryo rotors with the pads i decide.

now their is a decent selection of compounds. this is where im getting a little flustered what should i be looking for? my car has a pretty agressive alignment and ill be running street tires (225/255 star specs).

so it seems like the DTC 70 would be way to agressive for me since ill just be doing HPDE events. now would the DTC 60 still be to agressive? from what ive gathered from the info ive been reading it looks like the DTC30 would be a decent choice for me? any help and knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance Nick

They don't make the DTC-30 for the front only the rear. I also get Hawk pads trough work and when the Hawk rep came through he was able to get them to make the DTC-30's for the front as well to try out. Although I don't do track days, I do drive agressively and I also Auto-X at some faster courses (3rd gear stuff) and they wourk really well. If the 60's are anything like the 30's or more, then they may be to agressive for the track with the size tire your running.

I think the initial bite would be good for street tires though. Too aggressive would be "interesting".

HB361W.622 Disc Brake Pad; DTC-30 w/0.622 Thickness; Front;
HB145W.570 Disc Brake Pad; DTC-30 w/0.570 Thickness; Rear;
unless this is a mis print it looks like their in production now maybe ill try these out front and rear ?

what do you guys think about running dtc 60s up front and the dtc 30s out back ?
make any sence or just keep same compound all around?

i run DTC60 front and DTC30 rear, with NT01 255 all around. the DTC30 rear seems to be more aggressive than i like. the rear ABS engage a lot when i trail brake. i also have a set of DTC70 for the front that i will try once the DTC60 are done, and see if the brake bias will shift to the front a bit more.

i'm also testing out DTC60 with Accord front caliper, carbo xp8 rear.

Thanks for the input I've been following your thread regarding the accord calipers. So with that said your running the 60s up front and having rear brake bias maybe 70/30 is a good split? Or stick with the 60s all around

Looking in the 2010 catalog they didn't offer it and that's why they made the set for me after I had talked with Edwin Mangune who is the motorsports sales manager. Are you getting the part numbers online? Maybe through my input they started to offer them and put them online.

They are very dusty and if I don't wash my rims once a week then my wheels will be black vs the silver they are painted. One thing I have noticed with these pads, if your driving in the wet, you need to wash your rims ASAP or the brake dust bonds with the wheel and you have to scrape it off.
