Default Heat Cycling

So, it looks like I'm finally gonna get some R-Comps for my 03 S2000.

The time trial series I'm racing in has strict power/weight ratio guidelines, but is unlimited otherwise.

Temporarily, till I get some more money, I'm thinking of running the 17in wheels off my wifes 04 Acura TL. To save money, I think I'll run Nitto NT-01 in sizes 225/40-17 and 255/40-17. The wheels are battle-axes at 23.4lbs each, but I just don't have the bucks for anything lighter weight. I still have the stock 16in wheels, but they're just too much of a compromise in width, correct? Can't fit anything very wide with those wheels at 6.5/7.0in. The TL wheels are 8in.

Both TireRack and DiscountTireDirect offer heat cycling for $15 a tire. Is it worth it from a performance or tirelife standpoint?

I ran a 245 square setup on my stock AP1 rims, and I've heard of people running 265s on the rears, so you don't need to change rims to run the tire widths you want.

I've never heard of anyone heat cycling NT01s, I just don't think they need it. I've been running them for over 3 years. Those wheel and tire sizes sound pretty solid but what offset are the Acura wheels?

You can fit a 245 on a 6.5 inch rim?!

They are 45 offset. So, they'll stick out, but my current rims are 47, and with my fender roll are fitting fine.

But, I didn't think about hub size...what are the hub diam for our cars again? And how do I figure out what the 04 Acura TL is?

17x9 TRM C3's are dirt cheap. Rota cheap. free mount and balance makes buying the wheels and tires from TR in one shot a pretty good deal.

I believe you need 70.3 for the front and and 64 for the rear.

I think the main difference in fitting a 245 on a 6.5 is if its for track or Auto X.

Auto X I would think it would be OK but for a track car, thats TOO small of a rim for that much tire.
