I've driven down on Kumhos more than a dozen times without problem, although you could not on Hoosiers. It's only 200 easy miles and no sweat unless it rains and then you have to adjust. Consider going, I'm driving down on my R tires.

SphinkterMC drove from LA to SF ran sears for 2 days and drove home on a set of hooisers.

He said they didn't wear that much from freeway miles.

No steel belts makes them a little scary, but just case and point

CMiS2K,

Don't sweat it. I rarely if ever HT and I'm still faster at the track than any other S2k around here. Of coarse everyone will tell you its all car and not the driver. But seriously, HT will improve your times once you learn to use it effectively. That is likely a big part of the reason that JZR is faster than me in my own car at the streets of willow springs. Its a tight technical track with a lot of 3 2 down shifts into tight turns. That and he has a lot more experience than me on tight technical tracks and autocross. The point is you can be very very fast with out HT but chances are you can be faster still when using it.

btw: I never said you can't be fast w/o h/t, but you can always be faster than you were if you h/t.

We all know everything you do out there is about being smooth. If you're not -as- smooth you're going going to be -as- fast.
