How To Avoid Ice Mode?
Do you mean it feels like there is no "boost" ?
it sounds like you may have a problem with the brake booster or vacuum leak somewhere.
Ice mode, OTOH, is the opposite of what you're describing; it happens when there is too much initial bite and brake force -with brake boost of course- that make the ABS to think there is no traction and the car is on the 'ice'.. no wonder it's pretty common on Corvettes which have gigantic brake boosters (compared to many other cars) that provides tons of braking force ..

I do get occasional "brake distribution" warning light when I start car.

I believe so, I never had any issue with my booster .. actually I thought I did but it turned out it was the axle nut/ hub causing the pad knock back on every corner but I never had the firm brake feel ..you may have a combination of problems maybe?
I use the brakes quite excessively and even with that, after 4 events all my rotors look almost new (I am sure stoptech front BBK also helps with the vented directional rotors) but I also had great experience with my previous cars (all oem brake system)

My brake gets hard as rock, don't need to double tap it. Just keep pushing but I think it is actually car slowing down to the point it works again by itself.

in my experience, ST43s have always been an improvement over any OEM/stock pads on both street and road course track .. I don't see why it would be any different for autox
with that said you might wanna make sure you properly bed-in, in a track environment it's relatively easy but on street or autox it may be a bit harder, once it's done you will notice that they stop reaaaly good, again matching them with the proper tires is also very important

To bring this up to date:
I replaced all four brake rotors, and I put AX6 pads on the rear (to replace the less-aggressive pads I had had in the rear). Then I carefully bedded the brakes.
I've only been able to do one weekend since (but I did get 18 runs), and it seems to be much better.
If this didn't solve my problem, I'll update.
