While these may be valid points for wheel to wheel races, there are several mentions of track days in there. When talking track days there is one, and only one, way to deal with blocking - come in and get away from the blocker, talk to the organizers if necessary.

Track days always REQUIRE the passing car to get permission from the car being passed in order to execute a pass, even those that don't require a point-by. If someone is blocking they are by definition not giving permission to pass, the solution is not to find a creative way around them.

Somewhat relevant to the OP's topic. I usually find that just rolling thru pit road spaces you out from the offending vehicle. In the video I didn't because the GTR decided to pit for me.

You won't always get the point-by on track days. Furthermore, sometimes you can't tell if they are letting you by or just horrible at driving. My local track allows passing without point-bys as long as its on straights and if you complete the overtake before having to brake for the next turn... Which in this case is debatable.

Quite frankly, the video just posted isn't a brake check, it is probably the GTRs first track day.

If you are consistently running up on people hard in an S2000 then you are probably in the wrong group. In an open passing DE4 situation you should be more than able to work past anyone you run up on unless they are actively blocking, in which case you hot pit and talk to the organizer after the session... then think about feeding the TT beast.

This, 100%. I can't believe this article advocates forcing your way past someone that's blocking on a track day.

I don't think I'm fast enough to be considered for the 'fast' group. =( Our track day system is slow and fast groups only. I just wanted to upload the video because I thought it was relevant.
Edit: Sidenote, venting because I was irritated that the GTR HAD to pass me at the last second even though I would be much faster through the rest of the track.

The 'fast' group is more about being able to watch your mirrors, not do something stupid when you're getting passed on both sides by two red-misted idiots, and being consistent You wouldn't have Spec Miata, Spec 944, etc people in DE4 / open passing groups if it was all about lap times.

I feel your frustration though, haha.
