How do I drive fast through a turn?
I'm a begining autocrosser, and I'm having trouble controlling my AP1 when I come out of or around a turn of 90 degrees or more
I accelerate toward the turn, brake (hopefully early enough) and start turning the steering wheel as I enter the turn. As I'm turning am I suppose to have my foot off the throttle, or do I feather it just a bit? If I lay completely off the throttle then I get some oversteer when I give it gas. And sometimes I'm hesitant about giving it any throttle through the turn because I'll drift or seriously oversteer.
Any suggestions on how you guys/ladies go fast through turns would be appreciated. And yes, I know driving schools would be good. Maybe I just need to break even earlier. Thanks

Can't I go Fast and look Cool? Seriously, I appreciate the suggestion and do counter steer to recover.
I guess my main question is throttle or no throttle through turn. And in repeating it to myself it's evident there is no single answer because too many variables: speed, angle, traction, etc. Maybe more seat time, and some reading, is the only solution (or maybe some Hoosiers )

Entering a turn, you'll be trailing off the brakes, then smoothly getting onto the gas.
So, initially, no throttle, then some throttle, then full throttle.
Seat time is your greatest friend, get as much as you can.

And you're probably not slowing down enough or are too vigorous with your throttle inputs.

Ahem. Sorry. Couldn't help it. Yes I believe your suggestions are on point: a little trail braking followed by feather throttle before more throttle. Thanks.
