Go to a driving school, more seat time, and more cowbell!

Cowbell? What are you guys talking about? Is this some sort of visualization thing or are you suggesting I hang a cowbell on my rearview mirror. Granted I'm a newbie, but you Shit*#n' me?

Have you guys seen the iPhone Cowbell app?

And don't be silly. You have to mount the cowbell, not just hang it.

Yeah seriously, you need to read a book.

One quote about racing that I really, really like goes as follows (paraphrased from Jackie Stewart): Don't put the throttle down until you know you won't have to lift until the next corner, and do it as early as possible in each corner.

That's racing summed up in one concise sentence.

I don't know if this was said, but the first thing that I was taught back when I first started autoxing was, you have 100% you can allocate to steering/brakes/gas. So say you turning at 90% you can be on the brakes/gas 10% with out locking up or spinning. The guy giving the novice walk through also said think of it as a string attached to your steering wheel. As the wheel turns you foot comes off the gas/brake pedal. Hope this helps.
