Default how much difference in these alignment settings?

I decided to try a little harder at this racing thing..... sometimes i feel stupid not knowing my alignment or spring rates, etc....

my car was aligned in January at

Front - 1.6 camber, 5.6 Caster, -.03 toe.
Rear -2.5 camber, .12 toe

I have gone offroading about 4-5 times (nothing horrible) since the alignment so who knows what it actually is right now.

I thought I would go with almost the same settings but -2.0 front camber.... is that enough to make a difference in lap times? I am running hoosiers if it matters.

before you add in the camber, how is the car handling? Does it understeer mostly? How evenly does the tire wear? Have you used a pyrometer to see if the tire is wearing evenly? Those are some questions you would have to answer before anyone can help you.

of course I don't use a pyrometer.... the tires have actually been waring fairly evenly with the outside edges wearing off slightly faster.... so I figured i should add some camber to get the insides to wear a little more evenly.

The only thing I do is try to end up at about 42-44psi at the end of my track sessions......

The ended up giving me -2.1 camber, so i am not -.5 more than before... so hopefully that gets me around the turns quicker.

I don't run Hoosiers, but I think you're on the right track with your alignment. My last alignment went like this:

FR: camber -2.25*
toe 0
caster a little less than 6

RR: camber -3
toe 3/32"

Do Hoosiers like that much pressure?

Thats a lot of camber, for street tires. Your suspension stock?

Also Scot,

You should use a pyrometer for those tires, you also have more negative camber in the rear than what you need.

I am sure you are not using the contact patch most efficiently.

Check your tire temps and report back.

Stock suspension, Saner sway bar, stock rims, 225/245, not street tires.

Those are settings for Toyo RA-1s on a road course. Wear is nice and even and I'd put more camber in the car if I could get it up front...ah wait, tubular a-arms but that's a post for another day
