My head hurts, but I read through all the posts- some twice.

I'm limited on tire width(245 Hoosiers by choice because of pts for NASA TT's). Currently I'm running +63 17x9 CE28N's x 4. Weight of these wheels is about 14.5 lbs, iirc. I have not moved to the 949 6ULR 17x9 +48 wheels because of weight(18 lbs).

Valid stance or would a potential lateral g increase offset decreased acceleration/braking?
I thought the 6ULRS where 16lbs? 4lbs a wheel is significant

I think you are giving some grip up running the 245 on a 9" rim..

my bet is a 225 A6 on a light 17x9(+9points) is as quick or quicker than a 245 R6 on a 17x10 (+10)...

if you want get the 17x10's with R6's and we can swap wheels for a session at Road Atlanta in dec!

Dan, there is no reason to go from Volk 17x9 +63's(my current dry-track wheels) to 949 wheels of the same size/offset. The 6ULR's are listed as 17lbs for the +63 offset. The +48's are listed as 18lbs. Not sure where the 17x10 came into play.

I actually have *considered* an A6 225 on my 9's. The only way I'd do this is if I needed points for add'l weight reduction. Right now, I'm able to run 245 A6's without changing class. In the winter time I'll probably go the A6 route.

oh yea sorry I misread I can't see any reason to do anything but the 10" 6ULR
over the RPF1's or those wheels if they are 4lbs lighter each and 20mm less track

Has anyone tested width/track differences front to rear?

I am starting to think that their may be some instances where the rear 'wants' to be a little wider than the front.

BTW, I am running 17 X 9 35mm (non-staggered) and running on road courses (ie. not autoX).

yea when I run the Ap1 rears all round I would have a small 5mm spacer up front and a +30mm at the rear

compared to the 17x9 +45's all round it seemed more sensitive twitchy with the steering. my first lap out it was easy to turn in to much/fast and put the backend into a slide

Tires rims etc are a factor but I think having much smaller track up front was what caused that

if you want some more numbers crunch my current set up is 17x8 45mm (14.4lbs) all 4 with 18mm spacers in front to clear the brakes and 235/40 front and 245/40 rear.

thinking about upgrading to 17x9 40mm all 4 or 17x9.5 all 4 havent decided what offset yet. so i can run 245 f and 255 r

i really do like the way the car feels right now the tail isnt twichy and the front seems solid
