How to Remove Insulation Above Fuel Tank?
I want to remove the unsightly insulation above the fuel tank. Anyone have any suggestions for getting it off without destroying the paint beneath?
Thanks in advance,
Rob

Who cares what the paint looks like underneath?
I spray the area with brake cleaner or soak it with naptha solvent, let the chemical soak for 15-30 secs and then area and wipe off with a rag or paper towel. When you perform the chemical process, do it in an extremely well vented area, wear a mask and rubber gloves.

Goo-gone is less harsh, but similar.

And you don't think brake cleaner is going to damage the paint?

Thanks guys for the help. If I didn't care what it looked like I'd leave the insulation. As you know with the rear trim removed and a hard top that insulation sticks out like a sore thumb. I'll give the brake cleaner a try, it's cheaper than goo-gone.
