Default HPDE at PIR (Portland, OR)

Just did a HPDE at PIR. Tons of fun and a lot to learn. One thing that really cracked me up was how hard the Porsche guys take it when you pass them.

I have a whole new appreciation for the car. Now I'm hooked on tracking the car. Damn.

Welcome to the pipe. Pretty soon, you'll be ripping off all that bling and really having a blast...

I haven't seen you posting in the PacNW forums so I'll add a link to the local track information thread.

Are the stock roll bars ok for PIR or do I need aftermarket?

The track doesn't care. Neither does Pacific Raceways, Spokane, Mission, or Bremerton. It all depends on who is organizing the event.

Some of the car clubs are not okay with stock roll bars. It seems most are okay with them.

They don't whine, just that a few of them won't give you a point-by. You catch them in the braking zone; stick on their tail through the turn, and then, rather than giving you the point-by, they zoom away on the ensuing straight. Rinse; repeat. Eventually, they get the idea that you're faster than they are, and let you by, but it's annoying in the meantime.
