One of the crazies with the top down is Steve (PedalFaster), #168. Josh Sirota is in third place in the Boxster that Andy won the 2001 Championships in (he borrowed it from Teresa because his M3 has a blown engine). This is probably the wrong place to say so, but maybe Andy should have driven the Boxster today. Seriously...look at how many Boxsters are in the trophies.
Ok, on-site report:
B Stock was plagued by varying weather conditions. It was raining intermittently for the first two runs -- one minute it would appear to be drying out, but then it would start raining again. People were scrambling madly in the pits to change tires, and there was no consensus on the right way to go; while I was taking off my street tires to mount my Hoosiers, the guy next to me was taking off his Hoosiers to bolt on his street tires.
Many people, myself included, didn't bring nearly their best game in their first run or two -- there was a ton more grip out there than most of us realized, even in the rain. Everyone resolved to drive harder on their third runs, but nature conspired against us; heavy rain began right before our third runs did. As a result, the results are all screwy; most of the usual people are at the top, but after that there are a lot of names in unexpected places.
Tomorrow's supposed to be cloudy but dry -- a lot of people have scores to settle, so it's going to be exciting...
