Default insurance discount

Dear s2ki community,
I am about to purchase an 04 S2000 from a local dealer in massachusetts. With this car, I plan to get comprehensive insurance coverage. Now, I've been autocrossing in my previous car (corolla) for about 6 years, and I've instructed several beginner and intermediate autocross schools. Will this instruction qualify me for a defensive driving class discount with my insurance? I'm afraid to ask, because they might take this the wrong way and actually raise my rates. Any thoughts?

Depends on your insurance agent, at least in my case. Most auto policies and companies do not cover you if you are on a track, and many circumstances drop you if they found out.

My agent considers my autocross as drivers education and applies it to my discount but its only a 1% cut, Defensive driving every 2 years is a 15% discount for me. but will not cover any accidents on the track either autox or roadcourse, unless I get very expensive track coverage from another company.

I dont know the answer to this, but I would suggest you try Racing and competition section for better results.

I wouldn't hold my breath for it.
I'd bet they want a licensed school in order for it to be recognized.
Don't be afraid to introduce yourself in the new england forum as well.

be careful of what insurance agency you say it too.

I tried it with Geico and instead of a discount, they dropped my insurance on my S2000 and sent me a letter saying "they had reason to beleive this car is being used in some type of competition".

And If you try to get life insurace with someone other than your employer... youll pay again.

Just say its a garage queen.
