Default intake cam wasted

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/868838-cam-lobes-wear/
Check the post i put in "under the hood"
What caused the intake cam to look like this?
I just got this car so i was thinking find a used intake cam and swap it in. Then run the car awhile to see if the engine is ok. I am more worried now about the condition
of the rest of the engine should metal have gone thru it. Not sure if a used cam is a good idea but if someone has one drop me a pm.
Engine guys what's your opinion?
Thanks, Charlie

What do the roller rockers look like? My bet is they are seized. Looking at the faint disccoloring of the exhaust cam I think your getting lack of oiling or oil break down. Years and years ago cars use to be famous for taking out the cams from bad oils or lack of oil. You might be looking at something similar. What kind of oil do you run and how often are you changing it?

Ian, Thanks for the reply I was hoping to talk to you.
I only have about 500 miles on the car bought it used for $6k off ebay and know little of the history.
Thought i would check the valve adjustments and found this. I am not that confident of a mechnic
but is seems relatively easy job to remove the cams and check the rollers but it should be done by someone knows what their looking at.
I am thinking of buying used cams and installing them. I am alittle concerned with the condition of the engine now that i see this.
I was thinking used cams and run compression test to see how that is.
So What's your opinion, Have any oem cams laying around?
