I ran all year with a stock motor comptech intake toda header and megan testpipe.
with the 3005 lb rule I was rining close to josh untill he did full exhaust....I also never really "tuned" the suspension in the car sothat could have something to do with it..
on the last race of the season I took all the weight out and got a 144 at laguna. with it fastest was 145 or 6. josh was in the 144's
anyhow food for thought

unfortunately you're not much to of a yard stick. No testing or tuning of any sort. Hell you had a terrible alignment because of seized ecentrics.

You did alright considering, but your car was no way a good measuring stick of the potential of an ITR s2k unfortunately.

jlucas: I'd assume you could get 250rwhp with ITR legal mods (the ecu change went thru right?)

Yes, the ECU change went through, but how are you thinking your going to get 250whp with balance & bluprint, intake, exhaust and ECU?

No cams, cam gears, stock value springs, stock pistons, stock rods, stock TB
size, etc...

I didn't make any hp from the toda cams, some from the gears. But $ intake, $ header, and exhuast with ecu should be good for 30hp I'd guess. so yeah 230-240 at the wheels I was thinking 2.2L too I forgot you can't do that.

Digging this up from the dead.

Anybody looked seriously at what type of power could be made in IT legal trim? (0.040 over, header, intake, ecu, 1" head porting) What type of overbore is even possible with the stock sleeves?

I still really want to do one of these but there's no way I can afford it.
Who would you trust locally to do the engine work (machining,porting,ect...) ?

forgot I had this

While the #'s are SCHP (shawn church hp), thats 2.0L toda header ecu 3" and exhaust custom intake. toda c cams made almost no power cam gears I donno what they are worth. so maybe take off 7hp. Then add on a bunch more for a crazy hitech/whoever header and exhaust and some more for a block that didn't have 2 years on it. now you get a little bit of over bore and a little more for b&b...

Seems doable to me. Not cheap by any stretch.

I wish we could get a line in the gcrs for the class for a stock ecu'd s2k at ~2750lbs (250hp*10.93+some). -that- would be a wicked itr car and cheap and reliable too.

Porting = never had it done
Machine Work = M&M Head Service (here in Delaware; same shop THR & HART use for block machining, etc)

edit: Steve, if your thinking of starting racing, this is not where I'd recommend you start.

IIRC there were some gains from the cam gears (not IT legal) but that might have been in the midrange. What about before & after fuel type? Is that fuel IT legal?
What intake?

Don't think you'll get much of anything on the B&B on a S2000.
0.25 over bore pistons are/were available from Honda.

From what I've heard from SC, the stock intake manifold is the main limiting factor from getting anything more.

Hytech for a Civic is ~$1400, don't know what it is for an S2000.
