Default Karcepts FSB for AutoX

Have been Autocrossing my 05 S2000 in CS class for 2 seasons now. Car is bone stock with RE71RS & maxed out stock alignment. Looking to add the Karcepts FSB. I intend on staying in CS class, no plans to go to square. Given my setup, it’s my understanding the 1.14” bar would be ideal over the 1.25” bar?

Also, I’ve heard the combo of a staggered setup along with a stiff front bar can create too much understeer, so would it be ideal to start on the softest setting since it’s already much stiffer than stock? I’m not looking to “test & tune” at every event as I feel this just takes away from the fun. Plus, AutoX doesn’t exactly allow enough runs to dial in which setting works best.

Is there a particular stiffness/setting that’s the go to happy-medium that would work under most circumstances and would still be considerably better than stock?

Also do I need the Karcepts end links or are they not necessary? And would an alignment be in order after install?

Thanks

I have run square set up (245 F/R or 255 F/R). Yes, you'll want to go with the karcepts bar as it is a work of art that is rather spendy. I have run staggered set up at the dragon with my Karcepts bar and it's fine.

The karcepts end links are necessary as the machined/slotted bar extensions fit the karcept endlnks by design.

I run my bar with hole 3 on one side and hole 2 on the other- this is from the softest end. I have never run it on full stiff.
An alignment is not necessary after installing the bar. But you'll want a spec alignment to optimize your autocross setup.

Buying the bar should include the end links. I'm pretty sure the end links on sale separately are for when it's time to replace. Double check me but the kit should include everything needed to install.

I probably won’t tackle the install myself. I’ve got a good Honda tech that does all the maintenance on my car.

The endlinks do come with the bar. It requires those specific endlinks to work with it and those are part of the value. I have turned the wheel and adjusted my Karcepts bar one handed with the car sitting on the ground which I could only do that easily with that design (my car is lowered some too).

Excellent bar for autocross. I agree though that with a staggered setup you want to start on one of the softer settings and dial it in from there.

I have run mine for about 5 years now with zero issues or complaints. Cars primary usage is autocross and HPDE/TT with a few thousand street miles per year.

Thanks for the feedback.

Is even the softest setting a substantial difference from stock? Or do you think maybe a few clicks stiffer from softest would be a better starting point? (Assuming the 1.14” bar)

also, do you have the 1.14” or 1.25” ?

Yep... he has all the info on the site for it. But the softest setting on the big 1.25" Karcepts bar is approaching 2X the stock bar. Even their smaller bar is 200lb/in stiffer than the OEM 2001 bar.

I have the 1.25" bar. For me, I like to make big adjustments to see how it feels and then fine tune. So I would try out the middle setting first, then decide which way to go.
