Default Koni Yellow rebound damping settings

Have been running Koni Yellows with 440#F, 380#R G/C springs on the track. Never tracked the car with stock suspension, so nothing to compare to but current setup. Intermediate driver, OEM stagger, R-S3's.

Out of the box, I set the Koni's to 3/4 full rebound. I have not experimented with the setting, as the LR shock is a PITA to adjust, due to fuel line. I do not believe I have the ability to sense small changes in damping - just not that experienced of a driver yet. Perhaps from something like 1/4 full to 3/4 full, but guessing at that.

Is there any way to ballpark where these things should be set (perhaps based on all the other S2000's running them?), or are there too many variables to even suggest something?

It sounds like you are about right I could tell a difference between soft and full but in the middle not so much.

I try to run as little rebound as possible I'm not sure if this is the right strategy.
Going full stiff didn't help my laptimes when I tested, on 600/500 springs at full stiff I felt like the car was jacking down. So on your springs I would say be carefull going to high - it felt like the car was sinking down around a long sweeper it felt numb.

I think the total is about 1 1/2 turn but don't go past the last 1/4 at each end.

I would start out about 1/2 turn and go up and down 1/4 turn from there. I tried running 1/4 turn less in the rear and definitely like that.
I think I ran about 1 turn front 3/4rear... with them revalved I run about 3/4 turn front 1/2 turn rear.

One thing I noticed messing with the settings at auto-x one setting made the car feel a lot less snappy and easier to drive but ended up going slower. When I put it back to the twitchy setting I was faster right away.

a bit confused on your settings - are they relative to full hard or full soft? guessing soft.

I think we are using different nomenclature. When I said "3/4 hard", I meant 3/4 of the way from full soft to full hard (1.5 turns x 3/4=1 turn from full soft), not 3/4 turn from full soft. So that's where I have been - 1 turn from full soft, or to say another way, 1/2 turn out from full hard.

Not to thread jack... But what if it were the same variables except a 255 square setup?

Unsprung mass is not effected by rebound.

Pick rebound settings that match your spring rate and pick bump settings to match unsprung mass (wheels, tire, shock, control arm weight).

07, stock, prepped for solo w/ yellas. i run full soft on street, and full stiff for solo. seems like they dont have enough damping for what i want, but they were cheap.
