^^ Which setup are you referring to...2 or 3 clicks on the rebound?

My friend and I are going to the track this weekend and both have kw v3 coilovers. we are going to play around and compare the staggered to the non staggered setup since he's running 225/255 on ap2v1's. I'll update you afterwards.

TO start off we are both going to set it up as 2 clicks from full stiff on the rebound all around. Front will be 4 clicks from full stiff and rear will be 6 clicks from full stiff on the compression. This will be interesting...
I was asking about his 2 sweep setup. I am look forward to your after track report. It will be interesting to hear if there are any great differences between the staggered and nonstaggered KWV3 setup. Thanks.

First off, sorry for the delay...Encountered a heatwave this week and I work on A/C's so I was really busy and was too tired to go online to update you guys.

My friend's setup...

Rebound;

Front...5 clicks from full stiff
Rear...7 clicks from full stiff

Compression was set at (2) 1/4 turns from full stiff all around.

That setup was perfect for him with his 225/255(RE11's) staggered setup on ap2v1's. Neutral with a hint of under steer.

My setup...

Rebound;

Front...3 clicks from full stiff
Rear...13 clicks from full stiff

Compression was set at (2) 1/4 turns from full stiff all around.

Non staggered 17x9 rpf1's with 245/40(toyo R1R's) tires all around.

I started off with the same setup as my friend had but noticed the car exhibited oversteer through every corner. So I started tuning the suspension and found the setup I posted above as the neutral setup with a hint of understeer.

The KW V3's were clearly designed and tuned with a staggered setup in mind but from some online research Hyperco makes replacement springs that would benefit better for the non staggered setup.

Alignment for both vehicles were the same...

6.4-6.5 caster

-2.5 camber front
-3.0 camber rear

0 toe all around.

My rears wore evenly from side to side. My fronts are a different story though, I'm gonna back off some camber on my fronts in the future since I had about 1/5 tire untouched on the outside edges. -2.0 degrees should do it.

The main differences in the suspension work for the vehicles were my vehicles anti roll/ sway bars are all still stock but my friend has a comptech front swaybarin his. MY2007 vs. MY2000.

Lemme know if you have any questions

with my V3's I have hyperco's 650 lbs springs all around with saner bar up front and rear bar taken off the car. I run the tr motorsports c3 with 255 rs-3's all around.

Auto-x settings are

front rebound 2 from full stiff,
front bump 2 sweeps from stiff.

rear rebound 6 from full stiff,
rear bump 1 sweep from full stiff.

I had the bar on what would be full stiff and the car had corner entry push, lowered the bar to 2nd hole and will try those same settings this weekend.

thanks Rubn1out4GudLuk... I will be running a whiteline 30mm front bar so I might feel more under steer than your friend? Interesting that the V3s seem to catered to the stagger setup.

thanks chetly for updating with your settings, can't wait to play with these different settings.

how high or low in spring rates can you go with these shocks before they have to get revalved?

No one can really answer that for you. You have to try different spring rates and see how the shocks handle them and how you like the way your car handles.

I just came across this thread and am eager to try bills suggested settings for my KW's. The rebound(top) from my understanding, to have it at full stiff is looking down on it from above and going clockwise until stiff correct?

And compression at the bottom, is full stiff clockwise or counterclockwise when looking at it from the top like the rebound?
