Default KW V3s

I’m about to part with a decent amount of cash for some new KW V3s. I'm buying them to replace my Bilstein PSS as I have an imbalance in the rears.

So my question to you guys that run KW V3s is

How long have you had them and what problems have you had (Leaks,Seized adjusters/ Platforms, etc)

Thanks for your help

I've had mine for 3+ years with 650+lbs springs for over a year and no leaks squeaks or clunks. The only issue I've had is the black dust shields break apart but they have been removed and no problems have come from that either.

A friend blew his V3's on his Cayman S, and KW took care of the problem, but the issue was they didn't have any service facilities in the states, so they had to go back to Germany. IIRC, he ended up paying a bit more to upgrade to Clubsports, but his car was down for about a month.

They're great coilovers, but I'd prefer options that have factory service centers stateside.

I bought mine from someone who bought one of the first sets available from GoFastLabs, so that should tell you how old they are and they have not needed a rebuild yet and still work great.

I think stating some actual mileage and conditions driven might offer the OP some better insight.

40,000+ miles on the shocks, 8000 of those with the 650+ springs.

I think mine probably have around 40k on them, used for track days, autocross and long road trips etc.

Cheers guys

It was mileage and type of usage and any resulting problems i'm interested in. I do around 2000 miles a month and several trackdays and trips to the ring each year. So if the KW can't take high mileage reasonably well I'll need to find something that will.

Did you consider revalving your Bilstein shocks to handle a higher spring rate? It is not adjustable like the KW (unless the European PSS is different than the US), but would be cheaper and you'll still end up with a quality suspension. There is a thread on revalved Bilstein coilovers on this sub-forum.

How long ago was this? They have a facility in CA.
