Default KWV3

I am mulling over suspension options and heard lots of good things about KWV3, but also recently heard that there have been issues with leakage and seizures.

Can people let me know if they have / have not had issues?

Thanks

No issues with mine so far. I've been tracking on them for over 2 years now, and I occasionally drive it on the street.

I have had KWV3 on my S2k since 2006 and have had only 1 shock leak. Considering the small amount of mileage I've put ont he car in 5 years (20,000 miles total?), I don't find it's a good thing... They can be serviced though.

Had mine for 8 months. 10K miles and 6 track days with no issues so far.

Pending use and abuse, tracking and quality of street roads, ALL suspension can and will leak/die. Some OEM suspension on factory cars have been known to regularly leak and die in 15-25K miles.

As I said in other threads, pending the above, rebuilding them is possible and should be done every few years or so. In all reality, most people who don't track their cars will probably never even know they are leaking or have to rebuild them. Likewise, those who do, should rebuild their shocks every year or two regardless of brand just to keep the performance up.

Had mine one for 6 months - 20k miles. And I got them used with around 10k miles on them. No issues at all. 4 track days and numerous mountain runs.

Mine have got around 50K on them of daily driving and monthly autocrossing. They've got a trackday on them also. My only issues are I have a small leak in the drivers' rear shock. That is probably more due to user error on adjusting it under the fuel line. The adjustment is soft, but it doesn't lose pressure or back off.

The KW V3s are great shocks but I'd definitely look at the ASTs cause you take a big points hit for that V3 front external reservoir.
