Had a revalved pair on my old STi that I beat the crap out of with no recourse.
I would look at getting them revalved if you plan on running any kind of decent spring rate

^ any kind of decent spring rate? 9k on the V3's isn't bad, and 10k on the club sports is pretty good as well. Spring rate is far from everything and stiffer isn't necessarily better.

If he is planning on running A6's for time attack use...sure the KW's would probably be a bit low on spring rate for that much tire. But its enough spring for your standard R-comps.

I've only had mine ~ 8 months, a few track days and several autocrosses on them so far. No issues. I opted for the clubsports though as they have a larger internal reservoir, thus carry more oil, thus are a better damper for heavy use. But it all depends on what you intend to do.

I would say that you're probably right being that they can handle what most people want. However if you're setting your car up for autox or don't want to run big bars they probably can't handle the rates stock
