Default KWv3's

So I picked up a used set of v3's from a buddy of mine and the rear struts make noise over every bump they hit. Once you get up to speed you don't hear them anymore. Probably just because of the road noise.

Is it normal for these coilovers to make noise as they move or do these have something wrong with them (the sound is sort of like a creaking btw)? I already pulled them out again and checked to make sure that the top hat was tight and all the hardware was where it should be.

Make sure the rubber-mounted top hats are cleaned (maybe try using some grease) as well as clean the mounting surfaces of the main and helper spring against eachother as well as the spring perches.

I've driven over 10 KW equipped S2000s and none of them creaked atall. Sounds like something is dirty or jammed in there.

My rear KW's are loud as hell when it's below 50F.

Mine made squeals for a while. Figured out I forgot to turn the dampers back from (near) full stiff back to street setup (near) full soft. After a few days the squeal died down. After a wash and a week or so later, no noise. Try check damper stiffness and cleaning them.

I'm going to pull them out again and clean them when I get home from work. When I make them softer it gets worse tho. The more they travel, the more noise they make... They also hiss a little when you compress the shock with no spring, they come right back out tho.

Might be a dead shock or need a rebuild...
