I just watched this video....Not sure what kind of HP that evo has, but jesus..... he went past 2 silver S2000's like they were miata's...... He doesn't appear to be driving the Evo overly aggressively either. that thing must have HUGE hp..it probably still weighs close to 3000lbs with him in it.?

At 2:17 he walks another EVO like it was glued to the ground as well. Sure doesn't look like a fun car to drive with all that understeer though.

 

Damn that's alot of power. He passed every single car with ease. It looks like he coasts in a few corners, but is a bat out of hell on the straights.

 

I haven't talked to Kent myself, but my Evo owner buddies tell me he's pushing something like 500hp and is running 305's all around in that widebody car.

 

he was running 335's and they were Hoosiers.

It was running in ITE although ITE is supposed to be for body styles that are 5 years old or older.

He was on par with the Competition coupe, so thats' pretty fast.

 

Not in Norcal. ITE is a Production Based car (tub chassis) and DOT tires, thats it. And there were no Comp Coupes running in ITE. He was on Par w/ Dearings Speed GT Viper.


But yeah they run between 400-600hp depending on qual or race (boost control in car). Chalk that up w/ Mueller's setup, huge hooisers and kents not a half bad driver either. makes for a quick car.

btw those 2 s2ks he passed were me and karner. I knew he was coming up thru the field and let him by, karner seemed like he thought about blocking then changed his mind.

BTW my exhaust is loud

That evo sure pushes alot and didn't seem very quick thru the corners.

 

500hp! That explains it.... it almost seemed like he was just cruising around... places where it seemed like he should drop a gear, he would just roll through in 4th.....but I don't know the track either....

S2000's??? what S2000's.....

 

How is this "EVO vs S2k" ??
Evo is almost always faster then s2k, situation started out that way, and with the evo being more mod friendly, its even more so when tuned.

those pop up messages makes the video look cheap, whats with the cutting here and there?

S2000's sound awesome on the track. I have a video of me passing someone at Road Atlanta with my Veilside Ti exhaust... it sounds great!!!

It looked like he was driving at about 8/10's...... apparently he beats the vipers that he races, so he clearly has lots of HP...plus he is pulling an extra 300lbs around.
