The gap on mine is all the way across the bar. Probobly doesnt make a difference, but I removed all the sound deadening tar before i installed it.

The fact that it slants forward is a problem and unsafe. People have expressed concerns that it may not hold up in a roll over situation. Someone above mentioned there's only so many ways you can bend a bar, lol, but there's a big difference between the Bitterman and Elda design that followed. That bar was one of the very first designs around. Certainly the first affordable one. But Aaron Bitterman himself told me once (few years ago) that there were better bar designs for the S out there now. It was a nice effort but not the safest.

ballade roll bar https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/104...fety-roll-bar/

I paid $750 each a few months ago another hundred bucks for shipping, can't find them on their webpage anymore, maybe some vendors still carry them

Good to know about the hard top clearance, but there should be no issues with retaining the soft top with the Hard Dog bar, correct?

No clearance issues with my harddog double diagonal and softtop/hardtop. They both rub slightly, but it's not a big deal.

Incorrect. The hard top offers zero safety benefit in the event of a rollover. It is obviously harder to do a broomstick test since you have to remove the top, but the principle still applies.

I wouldn't say zero, but it's not going to protect you from getting crushed...

The main protection that the hardtop gives you is if you gut the softtop out and remove the frame and motor. That will prevent the softtop frame from twisting around and possibly impaling you in the event of a roll over.

How do you like it?? There doesn't seem to be much feedback out there on it beyond "that looks nice." Is it significantly taller than a HardDog?

I love them, the harness bar is the perfect height for wrap arounds, you can retain the stock seat belts if you choose (It has the ears for the shoulder belt routing welded already), comes with 5mm steel backing plates and hardware. The main hoop of the roll bar bows out towards the hardtop pillars where your head is. My interior is stripped so I can set it in there for you but it looks just like the pics. I also have a red one in my man cave if you want detailed measurements

I also like the fact that it's DOM. But it's all overkill, I could die and the cage would remain re-sellable.

Also it weighs only 8 lbs more than the stock bulkhead with seatbelts attached

Oh, and don't forget the arm restraints if no hardtop.
