Looking for Locked/Welded diff
Hi guys,
I've been recently exposed with the S2000 and learned a lot and still learning.
I've been planning to do a drifting event once or twice a year and would like to get a locked rear end but can't seem to find any info on it. Anyone can point me to the right direction?

You'll have a very hard time finding a locked or welded diff, much less info on it, in this community. The inherent nature of the S2000 does not make it a very good drift car and not many people outside of the 240sx/drift community would be willing to give up a pefectly good factory LSD for a locked/welded diff.
Although, he may be talking about a "locking" diff. In which case, there are plenty of options including OS Giken. Most track guys will go with a 1.5 way locking diff, most drift will pick a 2 way diff. The locking diff is in use for STR autocross and for some Time Trial.
I've been toying with the idea of a welded rear diff for ice racing.....

No, I'm not talking about locking diff. I'm talking about locked/welded diff.
I'm familiar with racing myself, you can visit my website at www.prima-racing.com
I just purchased a Honda S2000 and want to have fun and trying out drifting. I won't do it often, heck maybe once or twice a year the most.
I've tried drifting J's Racing S2000 with 1.5 way Kaaz, and it wasn't very good. Definitely not compared a truck we had with locked Diff.

Yeah guys Andrie isn't your average visitor to S2ki, don't sell him short.
I'd just weld it myself Andrie, you'll probably need to pull the entire assembly and maybe even pop the ring gear off to get to the Torsen.
I have a spare Torsen sitting in my basement if you want it. No pumpkin or gears though.

Thanks Nick,
I see a few used complete rear end for under $500 from time to time. I much prefer complete so I can change it up only for drifting and keep the car civilized for the street. Especially when the wifey drives it. Don't want to be told to get rid of the car cause it drives "weird"
I think I'll try welding the LSD myself. I was hoping there is an open diff, as they are easier to weld and I don't want to ruin a perfectly good lsd.
