With the larger capacity & surface area has anyone seen lower oil temps with the canton pan.

The Canton pan has larger capacity but I don't think it has a larger surface area - the OEM pan has fins on it to aid cooling

Good point I am trying to decide between an oil pan or Mishimoto oil cooler.

the purpose of the pan isn't to increase cooling, its to reduce starvation

sure but if you want cooling buy an oil cooler. if you want to avoid oil starvation buy a baffled pan.

Going from the oem pan to a canton pan I saw something like 20-30F higher oil temps at the track and higher oil temps on the street.

The OEM pan helps considerably w/ oil cooling. If you track your car regularly it's probably a good idea to run an oil cooler w/ the canton pan.

Glad I asked I can't handle another 20-30 degF. I'am at 260-265F after a 30 minute session. Some earlier posts mentioned some cooling with canton. Looks like oil cooler it is for me.
