Default LSD selection

I have posted this in s2k talk but looking to get some response from the s2k track cars and hopefulyl some of the guys who drive their cars daily while being track cars.

I am wondering if there are any gear type 1.5 way lsd's which do not require a rebuild after 50,000 kms. My s2k is a daily driver and frequently sees lapping days, but it gets ALOT of milage. Looking for something where I wont have to rebuild it in 1-2 years (or unless I have to, what is the best). From what I gather, those which are available are:

ATS metal D20 1.5 way
Mugen 1.5 way
kaaz 1.5 way
Cusco
Spoon

You say gear type (which is low maintenace) but then list clutch pack types.
Stock is gear type.

yes I know. I mean these are the only lsd's which I know of which are available (none are gear type so obviously I dont know of any which are gear type hence why I asked if there are any gear type lsd's)

ok then clutch type lsd looks like my only possibility.

Then what are the characteristics of these listed Lsd's. Life span, functionality, initial torque settings (what that means..lol)... etc

There's a "Torsen R" racing diff that doesn't open up when one side's unloaded (true limited-slip, like clutch-packs). But as of a few years ago, the only application was for "big iron" (Mustangs/Camaros). You might check into it to see if there's something workable now.

I say you should select your LSD by the design on the blotter paper.

On a more serious note, what specifically about the stock lsd are you having a problem with?

I am not having any serious issues with the stock lsd, just looking for something which locks sooner than the stock unit.
