It would have to be a big bump and it would still be in the camera frame.

"Bump" wasn't the right word I guess. I'm thinking of a lateral ripple/undulation across the pavement, which would be indiscernible due to mirage effects and the shallow depth of field. That would create one of those momentary transients where, if you were looking at a datalog, you'd see a spike in lateral g.

Nah, I've seen photos before where a bump caused one or both inside tires to leave the pavement and the bump was not visible in the photo.

So, the shakedown today failed. Car is still having the rear stepping out issue. I can get to about 80% of my cornering speed, and the car is stable. As soon as I get to about 85%, the rear just steps out. Turn 2 at WSIR sideways is not good period.

I'm going to try adding 1/16" additional toe-in in the rear.

Additionally, I'm getting a very noticeable axle click on the left rear (clicks anytime the load balance changes between accel and decel; something as simple as getting on and lifting the gas pedal will cause it). I'll be having that wheel bearing and hub replaced as well.

Sigh.

So what (if anything) did you change on the car from the original post? I'm assuming that you're also running with VSA turned off? Does the tread wear on the RE-11's look normal?

Slight feathering here and there, but nothing crazy.

The only thing we found "abnormal" is a loose left rear axle nut, which was retorqued.

Any chance a worm gear in the diff has dropped and locked it up solid?

I'm thinking it may be a rear diff issue also. It does not seem to be alignment in my opinion.

I'll test for that in the morning. A working diff should turn the rear wheels in opposite directions with the rear jacked up right?
