Default MIchelin PSC or Yokohama A048

Anybody had experience with either or these tires. I know the Toyo's are great, but I'm looking for a 285/30/18 with a treadwear of more than 50. The Toyo R888 would be perfect but we can't get them here yet.

Don't get the PSC's. They aren't as good on the track as my Yokohama A032r's were, and don't last any longer either. I much preferred the A032r's I had before the PSC's.

The PSC's have an advantage in the rain and they're quieter on the street. That's it.

I also used a set of PSC's and they were total crap. Less grip than RA-1s, and corded them in like 2 days.

I saw a 911 cord the fronts of a set of new PSC's in 2 20 minute track sessions. Of course it might be the driver's fault but, I've never seen a tire shred like that.

Those must have been old PSC's. Mine lasted forever even though they had no grip. They are known to have probably the longest ltread life (though can be heat-cycled out).

Blackey, Nitto has a R-compound in the size you are looking for, but no experience.

My experience with the PSCs was that they lasted forever, but I was wishing they wouldn't, so that I would have a good excuse to replace them. It's cold and wet a lot in Seattle, and they were absolutely horrible in the cold and/or the wet. I felt they had decent grip (better than stock tires in any event) when warm and dry. I suspect that they had heat cycle problems, as they tended to get greasy late in the day late in life.

I also have seen someone cord a brand new PSC in one track day, but I suspect driver error. They do take a licking and keep on ticking, but they're not worth the money, IMO.
