Mmm, coilovers

PFB- The setup I have is the full setup from GC - Coilovers with their AD shocks. The spring rates are 380/450.
Jason - Re: your point about the aftermarket suspensions not doing much for the S2K at the track. My first thought is that you might be right. However, I also think that confidence inspires speed. You must trust your car to be willing to go as fast. I feel much more comfortable in the car now than I did with the stock setup and I think that will translate into faster laptimes for me. I also think (but have no evidence to support this theory) that with a better driver who is much closer to the limit all the time than I'm capable of, the upgraded suspension may make a difference in laptimes.

Another data point: I ran Hoosiers and stock shocks/springs and found the car fast but much less stable than slickrick's car, which had coilovers/RA1s. I consistently got big-time wheelspin cresting Lost Hill, and generally had trouble getting the power down out of the corners. Looking at photos of my car after the event, I realized why: my inside tires were nearly off the ground in the turns! So of the two setups, I think coilovers/RA1s definitely has more potential, especially, as Strike says, for those of us who benefit from the feeling of confidence that the extra stability provides.
Yah, but it wasn't the wing.
His car was completely buttoned down (with, admittedly, 700lb springs all around!). In comparison, mine could make you seasick from all the bouncing/floating.
Those big Hoosier sidewalls weren't helping my cause either...

sidewall shouldn't be a problem, you're new w/ the hooisers right? You'll find that they hold just fine and get used to a little bit of sidewall flex before they really stick. It took me a whole weekend at sears to get used to how to load them up.
Are you running 225/275?

Does anyone have numbers for determining the rake of the car stock, what the actual measurements front and rear are and what reference points were used? I believe that, ideally, the measurements should be made from reference points on the frame to the ground.
