Question Modifry's Shift Beeper

I just installed the Unit on my 01 S2K and I left it on the factory setting of 8800 RPM constant beep with 3 warning beeps warning at 200 RPM intervals. It seems to work with me shifting from 2nd. UP through the gears. However when going from 1-2 even though I am starting to shift the moment I hear any sound I am still lighting up the red zone on the tack.

I bought this for Auto-X so that I don't need to look down to know when to shift.

Does anyone have any recommended setting that work good for them in an Auto-X application?

I use 8900 with 200rpm increments.

I find the default setting of 8800 rpm with 200 rpm intervals works great. I like the 8800 constant horn as it gives you just a moment's notice before you find the fun limiter. Knowing when and being prepared for the rev limiter is good thing, because if the 2nd stage limiter (so called bleah limiter) strikes in the middle of a loaded up corner, a spin may await you.

Another vote for the default setting. Works great for road courses. Second comes pretty fast, but everything else is perfect. And first is only used to pull out of the paddock.

If you are using it for autox or drag racing where first is an issue but fourth and fifth is not, you might want to adjust the settings a bit.

I like mine set up with 300 RPM increments and a steady tone at the rev limit. The timing between beeps lets me anticipate when to shift, sort of like launching at a ProSolo:

Beep..Beep..beep..SHIFT!

I am running at 300 increments with tone at 8800. First and second are great, third feels like it takes forever. I also ran the optional ground up to my drivers side map light and have it set to come on as a downshift indicator from 5,000-6,000, using the cruise control to turn it on and off for spirited driving (NOS mode in the manual). Watching the video from my last autocross, it is neat to see how I am doing with my downshifts. Having the light on thru a corner also tells me I am where I need to be (on the verge of VTEC) for exit. Those more experienced drivers who have a better ear than I probably would have no use for it, but I find it a useful tool/toy that only took 15min. and a few feet of wire to mod.

This is the first time I've heard of Modifry's Shift Beeper. Please tell me more - what does it do? How much? Is it to help prevent downshift over-rev?
