Default Motion Control Suspension

I've been doing research on a coilover setup for months now, and had it narrowed down to Ohlins DFVs until I found out about Motion Control.

They seem to have a great reputation from the BMW guys, and I know it is run by the guys who used to run Moton, before AST bought them out.

They have a single-adjustable shock setup for $2650, and a 2-way for $4,600. I would get the singles, and what is nice about MC is that the shocks are modular, and I could upgrade in the future to 2-way if I wanted to for cheap.

I'm curious if anybody is running them, or have heard anything about them.

$2650 for shocks only. Add springs and top hats and you're looking at another $500-600+

I do still like that they are modular. Also, figure out what rates you want...I had kind of looked into them and I didn't get the impression I'd be able to run rates as high as I wanted with their off the shelf valving.

Correct, still only a few hundred more than Ohlins. I will talk to one of their reps more about spring rates and what kind of valving they have OTS, do you have any info on that?

Interesting... this looks like a potential competitor to the AST 4150, at least in price and features.

Is anyone running the singles on their S2000?

I think they based their OTS valving off something around 700/500 spring rates. Good for the street. A little low for the track. At least out back.

Great, a picture of a guy going off on a public road. Ringing endorsement there.

Not to mention that he mounted his remotes on his roll bar to impress his friends, which requires *really* long lines, which in turn introduces a bunch of hysteresis into the system.
