Default Motul brake fluid

I have the Motul fluid I was going to add with my Cobalt brake pads but the pads won't be here by tomorrow. If I'm going to track my car Saturday should I put the Motul in even though I'm on stock pads...or just leave it how it is??

thanks

Yes, go ahead and swap the fluid now. It won't hurt anything.

One liter. (I think Motul comes in 1/2 liter bottles?)

And make sure you don't get any air in there. Watch the level carefully.

well that's just great..i wish i would have asked that before i ordered..i got one bottle and it's definitely 1/2 liter!!!!!

I ordered from King Motorsports..they shipped swiftly but they didn't have size of bottle in description. Great!! I'm an idiot and in my opinion so are they for not listing the amount of fluid per bottle/item!!!!

Thanks for the help!

Heh. Yeah, 500 ml bottles for Motul. At the bare minimum you'd need 750 ml to do a complete flush. More if you're messy or anal

So two bottles of Motul or one bottle of Superblue

There must be places locally to buy another bottle. Either that or don't worry about it. You'll probably overtemp the street pads before you boil the street fluid, unless the fluid is really old.

You can probably go without problem on OEM pads and fluid for your first track day. Most of us did.

Just run Valvoline Synpower synthetic DOT3/4 fluid. Comes in golden cans and you can get it anywere (Trackauto etc). Trust me, it's decent stuff. In fact you will have to worry more about your OEM pads fading than the Valvoline boiling.

I have had no problem running XP8s with RA-1s while using fresh Valvoline.
