I use the G-Lock and give it two thumbs up.

What's the benefit of the G-Lock over the pull on the belt, suck it in, and buckle method?

You can get the lap part of the belt really tight with the CG-Lock, and it can be tighter than the shoulder belt if you want it to be. Having said that, I haven't bothered to get another CG-Lock since mine fell apart, even though there might be a warranty. Locking the reel works well enough for me that I don't want to hassle with installing and removing the CG-Lock for every autocross. I don't like leaving it installed due to the sharp edges in proximity to the leather seat.

I also found that the CG-Lock left part of the seatbelt looking pretty abraded after only a short period of using it. I don't really want to use an item that is going to weaken my seat belt over the long term.

i never use them, i didn't bother after using my old setup with a four pt sparco harness on my last car.

most of my friends with gc lock liked it.

you can fab a bracket on the base of the stock roll hoop base area to mount a harness. jsut take off the plastic vent panel thingie and you can see what i mean.

but you don't really want to use the stock seat

Like I said, there are lots of ways to install a harness without a roll bar. It's just that none of them are safe if the car happens to roll over. And many of them aren't safe in a regular collision accident.

Let's say S rolls over and driver can't move since his body is tightly strapped on the seat, oops, there goes the driver's head.

Get a cage, a 6pt harness and a HANS. I've already used my HANS and it was money well spent. You won't know you need it until AFTER you need it.

...then wear a bubble suit and fill your car with fire retardant foam If you are still feeling a little exposed, duct tape some pillows to the outside of your car
