Default moving to r-compound

i'm planning to move to R-compound tires this year for HPDE driving. should i get a stiffer front sway to prevent lifting of the inside rear, or is that only an issue for auto-xers?

If you aren't limited by rules (Like we are in stock class autox), I would look into adjusting spring rates before changing bars.

Tune with springs, damp them appropriately, and you shouldn't need to worry about sway bars.

I highly, HIGHLY, advise you to just run it the same way as before. Yes, you will get more body roll. But before you go changing spring rates and sway bars and whathaveyou, you ought to just run the car a bit with the new tires and see what happens.

For one thing, it will take you a while to figure out all the quirks and characteristics of the new tires, and you don't really need to be dealing with figuring out a new suspension at the same time.

thanks. i think that's what i'll do.

i heard several reports of the gredon bar rubbing holes in boots. has anyone had that problem recently, or did SFR fix this problem?

I dont know what SFR means. but I run a gendron bar and havnt had any problems. I dont run it on a stiffer setting though. Its the autox guys that run them super full stiff that have the problems. the way you set it moves the bar closer to the boot the stiffer it gets.

all that said, the only reason I bought it was because its easier to get. If i could have had a comptech or gendron bar in the same amount of time, i probably would have goten the comptech.

I've had my Gendron for 3 autocross seasons, (and 20k miles). Set to full stiff. I have not worn holes in the boots yet. I was very careful to push the brackets as far away from the boots as possible when I installed them.
