Default Mugen SS Wing

Has anyone used the Mugen SS wing on the track? How much effective downforce does it generate? Better yet, does anyone have downforce numbers, or a comparison to J's GT wing. I have 2 people who are selling used wings, one J's and one Mugen. Unsure of which to go with. I like the looks of the mugen SS better although.

I'm no aerospace engineer, but AFAIK a wing won't do much unless it's in the airflow and even then the amount of downforce depends greatly on the shape, size, etc.

The Mugen looks to be too closely mounted to the trunk to have much impact even if it's a proper shape. I know next to nothing about the Js wing design.

appraently there are some spacers for the mugen SS wing which make it a GT wing, or you can add some custom inserts to increase the height of the wing id imagine.

Yeah, you can ask in the JDM section since they have experience with both of these wings. The Mugen SS wing is designed to flow with their hardtop and does a great job of providing downforce with that hardtop installed, but I have heard that it still does a pretty good job without the hardtop.

AJ-R is selling a used Mugen SS wing with the optional spacers to make it a GT wing, and I'm pretty sure they run the J's Racing wing on at least one of their cars, so if I were in the market for either of these wings I would PM or call them and get the info from them, as they have been very successful tracking their cars.

If you're considering those wings, why not the APR GTC-200? I believe the cost would be relatively less...perhaps even vs. a used Mugen or Js.
