Most important, SM still generally has the largest fields of virtually identical cars of any class. The fun of racing is having people to play with regardless of where you are in the field; with a lot of cars, you will have that. An SM is only a tiny bit "slower" than an HC, and faster in the turns. And Mazda has awesome support for its racers.
Secondly,
My helmet was a loaner obviously. I have a helmet that fits much better but it is a motorcycle helmet and they wouldn't allow it. That loaner was the largest they had and I'll tell you it was just sitting on top of my head, not actually on my noggin. My helmet would have been much safer. the only difference they said was that SA helmets are fireproof. Personally I was more worried about it being ground proof....
OK, so I'm taking your advice: the S2K CR is for sale. It hurts, but I've got to get back on the track and I don't want to be worrying all the time about hurting my car. Here is the link:
