Since they robbed the design from the Miata, it's no surprise they have the very same limitations when it comes to rollbar placement

I don't have quick disconnects and the holes are what one can do w/ a 3/8ths drill bit

I wish Honda would have thought more about where the roll bar mounts would be when they design the fuel tank door.
That is one nice thing about some of the higher-end sports cars, where the engineers have already included provisions for things like roll bars.

nope, you should seel them put a cage in a Z06. One guy welding and the other underneath with a squirt bottle to keep the heat down.

nice cage, not sure if this is your track only car but i would have gutted the drivers door and brought the cage out farther to give you more impact room and mounted the rear down bars straight to the shock mounts like others said and x'd the rear instead of just a diagnal, but none the less it looks like it will do what you want withouta problem

X'ing the rear is just extra weight imo and its not required. X's in the doors would have gone wayt farther in terms of adding rigitdy.

Also the diagonal across the roof isn't required either, but I certinely understand why one would want one.

Its my cage. I wanted to keep the windows, the cage builder wanted to remove them--like a few of you have said. I have seen too many racers trying to cover up their cars open windows to keep the rain out. My cage builder had already welded in the rear down bars before it occured to me to have him attatch them to the shock towers. Retrospectively that would have been a better design, but I was lucky to get what I got before last weeks NASA race. When I mentioned the rear shock tower issue to him he said this offered better rear end protection I think it was just easier to do it this way.

That's actually more for the fires that can ignite with the undercoating. It also smolders.
