Thumbs up NASA Hyperdrive

HyperDrive:

HyperDrive is designed for the the person looking to try out Track Driving without having to commit to the entire weekend. This is great for Crew, Friends, Spouses or anyone else wanting to get on track for a session. HyperDrive includes complete classroom with HPDE1/2, and HPDE Passport, In-Car instruction and a single on-track session of 20-30 minutes.

I've been thinking about breaking my track "cherry" by participating in this

......any thoughts

I think it can be fun, but if you're really interested, just take the "plunge" and do HPDE 1. Most people that I've spoken with have felt that hyperdrives are just a tease. As you quoted, its more for people with only a side interest. If it's a $ question, then of course do what fits your budget. Otherwise, a single track day is around $250 and significantly more fun (especially since most of the fun is repetition and self improvement as you learn the car, your driving limits, and the track).

A track weekend in NASA HPDE 1 is about $300. If you can't afford that, then never ever go to the track. The addiction will make the cost of your first track weekend seem like pocket change.

You'll probably be too scared/nervous to really enjoy HDPE with just one session. Likewise if you want to go fast, everyone else will probably be going slow.

Like suggested above, even if you don't do a weekend, do a full track day.

+1 on doing the whole day. NASA's 2 day events are perfect imo. The first day you spend learning the track, lines, etc. You will be considerably faster on your 2nd day when you don't have to wonder which way the track goes

For me it's not a money thing ;for others in my local region it could be

I just saw this and thought for anyone wanting go get out on a track like Mid-Ohio or Beaverun, etc. It might be one inexpensive way to do so and maybe catch the "fever"
