Default Need help picking out a helmet

I'm looking for a helmet for solo and HDPE events. I'd like to spend less than $300, and have a helmet that will work for any events. Any suggestions?

HJC AR-10. I paid right around $300 shipped with an extra tinted visor. It's an SA helmet so its good for autox and track days.

It is best to try on different brands, models, and sizes (as long as you are relatively close to a shop). Every helmet will fit your head differently. There are plenty in your price range.

We love our hjc helmets. In my opinion, they are the best bang for the buck. Trying on different ones is a good idea.

We have the best pricing available on all hjc products. Pm us for pricing

How expensive is your head? Dont go cheap on a helmet. Buy the lightest you can put your hands on

My $100 Scorpion helmets have protected me just fine during my numerous motorcycle crashes (combination of low and high sides). Price isn't important.

Find a helmet that fits your head comfortably, chipmunks your cheeks, and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. As recommended above, try a bunch on and see which one you like the best that's in your price range.

i dont know if i agree with the price range above....

but ive had a few friends at helmet mfg companies.. lots of these small time companies come out of the woodworks to make a quick buck and bounce before they get a lawsuit filed against them for bad QC. these companies bank on the hopes of you just not getting into an accident, but if you do, it could cost you your life.

make sure you get a quality helmet... and dont use a motorcycle helmet in your car please lol.

Make sure you get a snell rated helmet obviously. I would agree that HJC is good bang for the buck. They have comfortable helmets. I haven't been very pleased with my Simpson even if I do get to pretend I'm the old stig.

Does it have to be sa or dot is ok

I have a dot toss helmet 70 bucks at a motor cycle store

I've had expensive helmets and they are better but overkill

Do what your wallet can afford

I have crashed in Scorpion and Arai as well, including some big, bounce-off-the-head high sides. Scorpion is an excellent helmet, especially for the price.

Higher price you are typically paying for 1) name, 2) weight, 3) vents/features, 4) looks.

I agree that HJC is a good, affordable option (I have an HJC as well), just make sure to try them on and be sure they fit your head shape.
