If one were to make this fit into a S2000 case would this be legal?

For that kind of money you would be better off running a tried and true aem or haltech wired as a piggy back. In addition jim reyenga was able to get a megasquirt to run on his ap1

Easy button, haltech plus harness is the same price and still a piggyback or "trick" in my opinion along with the AEM. My tuner hates piggybacks especially on the s2000's because every ecu reacts differently and have problems sometimes.

I didn't think the AEM was available as a piggy back. AEM and Motec have replacement ECUs which require some tuning and won't pass emissions. If you have a significant modification and are exempt from emission testing then this is probably the best option.

I believe one solution is the use a post-2005 ECU: http://store.evans-tuning.com/hondata-kpro.html

It has to retain obd connectivity and fit in a factory ecu casing or be a piggyback.
