Default New add to s2k track

Hey Folks, I stalk quite a bit on s2ki and have benefited directly from the wealth of postings and knowledge sharing here. So part intro, part thanks.

I took ownership of my 03' AP1 s2k about 3.5 years ago. Drove the snot out of it to really enjoy it in stock form (albeit brief) then started saving up for my track focused plans. Started prepping the car with a roll bar, and some small updates to suspension (FA 500 series). I have outfitted her with seats and harnesses. Much of which you can track on my site osms.io. I have just sent my s2k off to ASM motorsports for a kswap. Looking to partake and in the end give back to those other folks starting their journey here.

Came from subie (nasioc) back in the day with my bugeye 02 wrx, logged some HPDE in my 350z then had some real life action ruin my track dreams. Now I am looking to get back after it. In the Northern VA area, so Summit and VIR will more than likely be my initial focus when I get the car back. When I had my Z I used to run with the audi club and they were very welcoming. I wonder if that is still the case or if other folks find other clubs more welcoming (given that was like 10+ years ago).

IMO the best organization for HPDE, TT and W2W in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions would be NASA (National Auto Sport Association).
Extremely welcoming, one big family and lots of track time at the best tracks. Start in DE1 and work your way up. LOTS of fast experienced drivers to gain knowledge from. Drive NASA

Another great option but HPDE only organization around the Southeast is Jzilla Track Days. Lots of track time, great group of experienced instructors, just an awesome family of enthusiasts.

There's a number of other HPDE groups like Chin Track Days, THSC, TSCC, private track days, etc. around the East coast.

I also came from tracking subarus.. 3 engines and a fire at Road Atlanta later and I'm in a S2000 lol.

Something about the gravity of what you wrote that......that "hits different".
Must be that Suzuka Blue tribe

Indeed NASA was on the radar, but I was looking at the rule specs. The interior is pretty much gutted, it will have a swapped K24 in it (NA), with sphericals all the way around. I used to have Eric Wong as my instructor back in the Z. I asked him if he would, but he is FT racer now so he doesn't have the minutes to spare. Initially Andy (ASM Andy) suggested that I get back on the HPDE horse with 17x9 wheels and work my way up to add aero later on... then some wide body 18x10.5 setup later down the road.

NASA MA is your best bet. TRACKDAZE is also an option. NJMP is also in that realm of tracks close enough drive on. Definetly some fast S2k drivers in this region. Look forward to seeing you at the track. i have a SSM #419. Stop and say hi

Thanks for the pointers.... car gets picked up from ASM end of January, or beginning of Feb weather permitting. The whole goal of my osms.io website is to help folks understand the commitment..... how to get involved.... and leverage those masters of the art that came before. Ross Bentley, Tom O'Gorman.... folks like that are guests I would like to interview and have on my show.
